Each room carries its own story. Follow the names to the places, traditions and symbols that inspired their character.
Lilla Grekland draws its inspiration from the Greek islands – a world of sun-warmed landscapes, small harbours, blue seas and places where time is allowed to move a little more slowly. Behind the name lies both a rich cultural heritage and a deeply rooted tradition of welcoming people with warmth.

Greece’s island world includes around 6,000 islands and islets scattered across the Aegean and Ionian seas, but only around 200 are inhabited. Each island has its own character – from whitewashed villages and volcanic cliffs to green mountains, quiet beaches and small harbours where daily life follows the rhythm of the sea.
On Delos, one of the most sacred islands of antiquity, births and deaths were prohibited for a period of time. Women nearing childbirth and people approaching the end of life were therefore taken to the neighbouring island of Rineia. Today, Delos is an extensive archaeological site and a World Heritage Site.
Beyond the best-known islands are smaller places where a journey may be about a quiet morning by the sea, a family-run taverna, an evening swim or a walk through a mountain village. The Greek islands are a reminder that a memorable journey does not always need to be filled with activities – sometimes it is the slower pace and the simplest moments that stay with us the longest.
Philoxenia · φιλοξενία
Philoxenia is the Greek concept of hospitality that goes deeper than a friendly welcome. It means meeting a visitor with warmth, generosity and respect – and helping a guest feel at home, even when they are far from home.
In Greece, a guest is not merely visiting – they are invited to feel at home.
Cambodia takes its name from a country where history, nature and living traditions exist side by side. Angkor holds not only temples, but also forests, water, rice fields, villages and places that remain part of prayer and religious life.
Angkor is therefore more than a completed chapter or a museum without walls. It is a living landscape where traces of the Khmer Empire continue to meet nature and everyday life around them.
At Ta Prohm, enormous roots grow across and around the historic stone structures. Trees and temple have become so closely intertwined that the site expresses both the power of nature and the fragility of cultural heritage.
The built and the living meet, change one another and create something that neither could have formed alone.
A recurring piece of advice from travellers is to begin early, choose fewer temples and give each place more time. A local guide can reveal reliefs, stories and context that may otherwise disappear among the grand views.
The quietest moments often arrive before the heat and pace of the day take over. That feeling inspired Cambodia at Solportalen – a smaller room where the warmth becomes enveloping and the outside world may wait for a while.
Chumreap Suor is a formal Khmer greeting traditionally accompanied by a Sampeah, with the palms brought together in front of the chest and the head gently bowed.
The gesture expresses respect and reminds us that an encounter is shaped not only by the words spoken, but also by the way we approach another person.
In Cambodia, history does not only lie behind us – it continues to live.
The door to Skogsrummet bears the Tree of Life. Its roots reach into the earth, its trunk provides support and its branches extend towards the light. To us, it symbolises security and belonging, strength and presence, as well as growth, renewal and the life that may still emerge.
The Tree of Life reminds us that humanity does not stand apart from nature, but forms part of it. Through photosynthesis, trees take part in the cycles of oxygen and carbon while providing shelter, nourishment and living space for countless other organisms. What happens to a forest therefore affects far more than the trees themselves.
Beneath the forest floor lies a fine network of roots and fungal threads. Many trees and other plants live in association with mycorrhizal fungi, whose threads can connect several root systems underground.
Experiments have traced how carbon can move between trees connected through shared fungal networks. What we see above ground – trunks, branches and leaves – therefore rests upon extensive interactions that take place largely unseen beneath our feet.
This fine network becomes a natural part of the symbolism of the Tree of Life. It reminds us that strength lies not only within the individual tree, but also in its connection to the earth and its relationship with the life around it.
Forests cover nearly one third of the world’s land area and are home to more than half of its terrestrial plant and animal species. They store carbon, influence the water cycle and help protect the soil.
Preserving forests is therefore about more than protecting individual trees. It means safeguarding entire habitats and relationships that have developed over very long periods of time – between soil, water, fungi, plants, animals and people.
What we choose to preserve today creates the conditions for what may take root, grow and continue to live in the future.
Change happens slowly in the forest. The seasons follow one another, leaves fall and new life emerges. The roots hold firm while the crown continues to reach towards the light.
This feeling inspired Skogsrummet – an enveloping setting where traditional sauna warmth meets greenery, wood and soft lighting. Here, the pace may slow and the moment may take the time it needs.
Beneath the surface, life is connected.
Come on your own or bring someone and share the experience. The cold plunge offers a refreshing contrast to the warmth of the sauna. It is not about staying in the longest, but about meeting the cold at your own pace and feeling the contrast as warmth returns.
